The CLAE Scientific Meeting brings together participants from across Canada and abroad. It provides an opportunity to network with colleagues and exchange ideas while gaining up-to-date knowledge on emerging basic and clinical research developments in epilepsy and key management issues in the field.

The formal program runs Friday through Sunday and consists of CLAE plenary sessions and poster preview and viewing sessions. It will be an opportunity to review the academic strengths of our colleagues and continue future collaboration in education and research.

PROGRAM

The CLAE Scientific Committee has organized an excellent program for the meeting. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Jeffrey Britton, who will discuss autoimmune epilepsies and up-to-date approaches to their diagnosis and management. Plenary sessions will discuss dietary therapy in epilepsy, for paediatric and adult populations, as well as the transition from paediatric to adult care. Additional session topics will include: inflammation in epilepsy, novel research models of epilepsy, artificial intelligence and prediction in epilepsy, post-traumatic epileptogenesis, non-neuronal cells in epilepsy, sleep and epilepsy, intracranial EEG in paediatric epilepsy, as well as mental health and quality of life in epilepsy. We will also hold platform presentations from the four top-ranked trainee abstracts.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Whether you are an academic or practicing neurologist, neurophysiologist, epileptologist, neuroscientist, neurosurgeon, child neurologist, epilepsy or EEG fellow, neurology or neurosurgery resident, graduate student, nurse, social worker or other professional or researcher in epilepsy care or a trainee, this will be an outstanding opportunity to meet fellow Canadians interested in the field of epilepsy and to find out about the newest epilepsy treatments and discoveries.
